Betta Fish FAQ

Betta Fish Keeping

Our Betta are kept in variety of dark water planted tanks. Anything from 5gal racked tanks up to 55gal sorority tanks. Temps are monitored daily, water quality is extremely important with regular water changes. We use natural tannins to create dark water environments which helps keep our fish in tip top condition.

Diet

The staple food used is 'NRD for Betta'. Its a great product for daily use. We also mix it up with live baby bryne shrimp, frozen blood worms once a week and a few fasting days thrown in for good measure.

Shipped Livestock Care Guide
Receiving live fish via a courier can be daunting. We experience the same when importing and shipping our fish babies.

Please follow our guidelines and read up on how to correctly acclimate betta fish.

Unpacking - We pack our fish in insulated cardboard packing boxes with heat packs. You can throw away the disposable heat pack. |

Inspecting - Carefully handle each bagged fish when checking it's health. We double bag the fish, so please carefully unpack without shaking them around too much.

Acclimation -We recommend drip acclimation. Please look up how to do this safely without harming your fish.  There are various methods, the most important things are to slowly warm the fish to their preferred temp, whilst slowly introducing your tank water. Not doing this correctly can result in fish loss.

Quaranteen - We take great care to provide healthy fish. We look after our stock and practice quaranteen measures in our fish room when importing all new stock.

We source our imports from quality breeders.

Our tanks are all natural and planted, with regular water changing, consistent feeding.

We highly recommend you quaranteen your new fish. Betta Oasis will not take responsibility for any incurred fish loss due to cross contamination. Please respect this and thank you for understanding how important quaranteening your fish is.
